Happy 2011! James and I went to KC to visit Caitlin, a good childhood friend, and my sister and her family this weekend. When we left our home it was 60 degrees outside and so we drove with the windows down for a bit while we picked up my gangsta breakfast order from Jack in the Box.
By the time we got to KC it was 25 degrees. Ugh. For Christmas Jessa and Zach got us tickets to the Korbel Black Party for New Year’s Eve. I’m not really a big let’s ring in the New Year all crazy like type of person, but we all figured we aren’t getting any younger, so we might as well live it up while we can. I was sold when I heard there was going to be a buffet for the VIP peeps. Which, did I forget to mention that we got the VIP tickets? Yes, we really are that fancy. Isn’t it sad that the buffet was what sold me and not the 10 open bars?
First I had to get my tan on. My sis has her own professional spray tan machine. I’m serious. Ever since 9th grade she has been deathly afraid to admit that she is 25% Swedish. If tanning could be a religion, my sister would be giving away 10% of her salary to the tan church yearly for promises of eternal sun-kissed skin. I always like to get a FREE (hello, it’s a perk of having to put up with her) pro job done when I’m in town. She used the winter glow dye this time and I have to say it worked out really well. Yay, for cancer free tan! Let me know if you want to know how to get your own system and how easy it is, if not I’ll spare you the tanning details until figure out how to trick James into getting me one for my birthday.

We were all hanging out at my sister-in-laws new apartment for a little pre-party, which is adorable. Has a really nice laid back charm about it.

The morning after the party, I once again surprised myself with the control I had at the party and was wide awake at 9am with zero hangover.
Aiden and I hung out for a bit at his bachelor pad, while the men fetched breakfast from Panera.
Aiden most have still been drunk from the night before cause he was running into all sorts of things.
James, always being drunk, had an awesome time hanging out with a fellow drunken pal.
My sister and brother-in-law showed me their good parenting skills.
“Hey Jessa, that baby belly isn’t going to tan itself. Don’t act like you haven’t thought about spray tanning him.”
Short visit, but happy to report I entered into 2011 not an albino.
